State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report of retail theft Jan. 23 at a local convenience store in Decatur Township. During the incident, a woman allegedly stole two doughnuts, and then gave false identification to law enforcement before fleeing the scene. An arrest warrant has been issued for the woman identified as Tanisha Gower, 29, of Drifting.
- State police received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle sometime between Dec. 29 and Jan. 22 along Curwensville – Grampian Highway in Pike Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole a catalytic converter from a parked/unlicensed vehicle, a 1997 Ford F450 utility truck. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report of identity theft Jan. 21 on Elderberry Lane in Decatur Township. During the incident, the victim told troopers he was the victim of an unemployment scam. The investigation is ongoing.
- State police received a report of terroristic threats Dec. 30 on Main Street in Coalport Borough. During the incident, 48-year-old Larry Ricketts of Coalport allegedly assaulted victim 1. Both left the scene but returned, at which point troopers say Ricketts pointed a shotgun at the victim and threatened bodily harm. Ricketts then allegedly vandalized the vehicle, which was occupied by victim 1 but owned by victim 2. Both left prior to state police arrival on-scene, but Ricketts was located a short distance away and had to be “physically” taken into custody. Ricketts was housed in county jail; the investigation is ongoing.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report of an individual being harassed in the parking lot of a local business. The investigation is ongoing.
- Police received a report of an altercation that previously occurred at the caller’s residence. The investigation is ongoing.
- Police responded to a report of an erratic driver traveling west on U.S. Route 322. Police searched the area and located the vehicle parked in the lot of a local business. Police located the owner and did not observe any signs of intoxication.
- Police responded to multiple minor vehicle accidents due to snowy road conditions. Motorists are advised to use cation and reduce speed when travelling through inclement weather.
- Police responded to a “911 hang-up call” in the area of Cemetery Road. Police located the source of the call and learned that a toddler-aged child had accidentally called 911.
- Police conducted a welfare check on a NW Third Avenue resident. Police located the individual in question and found her to be okay.
Lawrence Township
- Police reported a DUI crash occurred Jan. 19 in the area of state Route 879 and Park Avenue Extension, Clearfield. According to police, contact was made with those involved and the driver was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was taken to Penn Highlands Clearfield for a legal blood draw; charges are currently pending.
Curwensville Borough
- Police were called to a Tkacik Road residence for a welfare check. The individual was located and found to be okay.
- Police located an individual with warrants at Dollar General. The female was taken into custody and to county jail. There, drug paraphernalia was allegedly found on the female. Charges are currently pending.
- Police were dispatched to a reported psychological emergency in which an individual was threatening self-harm. Police arrived on-scene and subsequently deescalated the situation.
- Police handled a call regarding criminal mischief at a Lincoln Avenue residence.
- Police responded to a Thompson Street residence for the welfare check of a female. She was located and found to be okay.
- Police were dispatched to Fourth Avenue to assist EMS with a combative male. He was subsequently transported to the hospital by EMS.
