State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report of theft that occurred Nov. 6 on Old Erie Pike in Boggs Township. During the incident, the victim sold an item online and allegedly never received payment for it.
- State police received a report of theft that occurred sometime between Jan. 6 and Jan. 13 on Lower Hollow Road in Boggs Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole items from the victim’s abandoned property, including a window mount air conditioner, six boxes of laminate flooring and around 30-40 Xbox video games. The items were taken from a “half-built” wooden shed and a partially burnt mobile home that wasn’t secured. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report of retail theft Jan. 12 at the Dollar General Store in Irvona. During the incident, a 23-year-old Madera woman paid for some small items, then asked the sales associate to use the restroom. While walking there, she stopped at the ice cream cooler, allegedly put an item in her bag and left without paying. Charges were filed through the district court.
- State police responded to a motor vehicle crash Jan. 14 on LaJose Road in Ferguson Township. According to the report, a motorist slowed down to avoid striking animals in the roadway, and their vehicle was rear-ended.
State police at Rockview
- State police received a report of burglary that occurred sometime between Dec. 21 and Dec. 26 at an Arbor Street residence in Philipsburg Borough. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.
- State police received a report of theft from a motor vehicle that occurred Jan. 14 on North 11th Street in Philipsburg Borough. According to state police, two Caucasian men were seen walking to the victim’s property, entering a vehicle an taking a small amount of money. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.
- State police received a report of criminal mischief Jan. 4 on Ernestville Road in Rush Township. According to state police, township officials told troopers damage occurred to a sign post.
Clearfield Borough
- Police conducted a vehicle stop on Water Street, which resulted in an occupant being taken into custody for a warrant.
- Police responded to a report of a male who was breaking items in his Stewart Avenue residence. Police arrived and deescalated the situation, and the male agreed to separate for the time.
- Police received a report of a phone scam. The caller was advised to ignore all future calls from that number.
- Police responded to a minor vehicle accident near the intersection of North Second and East Locust streets. According to police, a motorist attempted to turn left from the right travel lane, causing the accident. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
- Police responded to a Spruce Street residential garage for a structure fire. Police and fire crews arrived on-scene and extinguished the fire. The fire was caused by a makeshift wood stove.
- Local police served a warrant on a West Front Street resident and the male was taken into custody. Multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia were reportedly located as a result.
- Police responded to a report of a reckless driver traveling west on U.S. Route 322. Police stopped the vehicle and found the driver to be under suspension.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with a physical altercation in the area of the Edgewood Apartments. Police arrived on-scene and deescalated the incident. A female involved was transported to the hospital for possible alcohol poisoning.
- Police responded to a West Second Avenue address to assist emergency personnel with gaining entry into a residence. Police successfully pried the door open and the patient was transported to the hospital.
Lawrence Township
- Police reported a drug violation occurred Jan. 15 on West Front Street, Clearfield. According to police, a 31-year-old male, identified as Thomas Leigey, was taken into custody on warrants through multiple agencies. A search of his person allegedly turned up a glass smoking device and needle. Leigey was subsequently charged with the incident.
- Police received a report of an intoxicated and disorderly male Jan. 15 at Sheetz, in Clearfield. According to police, 30-year-old Keith M. Kerr of Frenchville disturbed other customers and also resisted officers, as they made several attempts to get him to leave the store on his own. He was eventually taken into custody, medically cleared and housed in county jail.
- Police received a report of criminal mischief/institutional vandalism Jan. 15 at the Clearfield County Jail. During the incident, a 30-year-old male, identified as Keith M. Kerr of Frenchville, allegedly damaged a camera in a holding cell after being housed on other charges. He also ripped a wire from the ceiling, which police say caused additional damage. Kerr was charged through the district court.
