Mt. Union — The Curwensville Golden Tide wrestling team was only able to bring eight wrestlers to its ICC match against Mt. Union on Tuesday night, and despite four pins from those wrestlers, they were unable to overcome the five forfeits and the 24 points that go with a short handed squad and suffered a 51-24 loss.
Curwensville dropped to 8-2 on the season, while the Trojans upped their record to 9-2.
The four Tide mat men that picked up wins were JD Strong (2-10) at 152 and Logan Aughenbaugh (7-2) at 160 with first period falls and Nik Fegert (8-4) at 138 and Alex Shaffer (6-3) at 189 with second period falls.
The Tide will look to go back to their winning ways on Tuesday January 18 when they host the Juniata Valley Hornets in another ICC match-up.
