CURWENSVILLE – A book-signing by Adrianne Johnston Robinson, author of “Growing Up Johnston,” will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Curwensville Public Library. This event is being hosted by the Grampian Lions Club.
A graduate of the Curwensville Area High School, Adrianne is a wife, mother and a fifth-grade teacher. She is the granddaughter of Mirl and Avonelle Johnston of Grampian; her book was written as a tribute and in memory of them.
The book explores the life and love of her family growing up in central Pennsylvania. Each memory has played a role in her life and the lives of her family, as she tells the stories of what it was like … “Growing Up Johnston.”
The book is a story of a close-knit American family with a much simpler life when the love of and for family, friends and neighbors was of utmost importance.
It makes the reader feel as if they were “home” in the towns of Grampian and Curry Run. Adrianne uses colorful language to express the details of each story to bring laughter and tears.
At the book-signing, you will have the opportunity to meet some of the people who were part of her stories. There will also be a limited number of books available for purchase.
The book is also available for purchase on Amazon.com.
