State police at Clearfield
- State police reported a drug-related DUI crash occurred Oct. 16 in the area of the Woodland – Bigler Highway and McDowell Road in Bradford Township. As a result, two drivers suffered suspected major injuries and two passengers had minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- State police received a report of a burglary Oct. 13 at a Kylertown – Drifting Highway address in Morris Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victims’ residence and vandalized it in areas.
- State police reported a drug violation occurred Oct. 12 following an incident on Pine Street in Coalport Borough. According to state police, 49-year-old Jon Tyler of Coalport was taken into custody on a Protection from Abuse violation and transported to county jail where he was found in possession of methamphetamine. Charges have been filed through the district court.
- State police responded to a reported crash Oct. 14 along the Philipsburg – Bigler Highway in Bradford Township. According to state police, a westbound vehicle crossed over into the eastbound lane, striking another vehicle. One driver suffered minor injuries; another driver and their passenger suffered serious injuries. They were flown to UPMC Altoona for medical treatment. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- State police reported a pursuit occurred Oct. 13 on state Route 970 in Bradford Township. According to state police, a traffic stop was attempted on two motorcyclists from Cleveland, Ohio. Both failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. They were later located off Tyler Road near Abbot Hollow Trail (near Parker Dam) in Huston Township. They were taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit and put in county jail.
- State police received a report of child endangerment Aug. 21 on Centre Hill Road in Graham Township. According to state police, a call was received to check the welfare of two children, a 1-year-old and a 4-year-old. Upon arrival, it was discovered the suspects were allegedly under the influence of controlled substances and had abandoned their children for approximately one hour. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- State police received a report of identity theft Oct. 13 on Blue Spruce Road in Decatur Township. During the incident, someone allegedly attempted to use the victim’s information to set up a fraudulent unemployment claim.
- State police reported that a chainsaw and fuel container were found Oct. 17 along the Kylertown – Drifting Highway and Interstate 80 west in Cooper Township. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
State police at Rockview
- State police reported a drug violation Oct. 7 on Powder Magazine Road and Port Matilda Highway in Rush Township, Centre County. According to state police, a call was received about an unknown male standing in the roadway and waving down vehicles. Upon a search of the area, troopers located a vehicle and its occupants were allegedly in possession of marijuana.
- State police received a report of a trespassing incident that occurred Oct. 2-4 on East Presqueisle Street in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. Sometime during the time in question, someone allegedly gained entry to the Philips Hotel and once inside, they removed copper piping. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
Lawrence Township
- Police reported a drug violation occurred Oct. 18 on Rut Aly, Lawrence Township. According to police, information was received in relation to the sale and possession of controlled substances. As part of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for a 26-year-old Clearfield woman’s residence. Officers allegedly seized a small amount of controlled substances as well as numerous items of drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed through the district court.
- Police reported a drug violation occurred Oct. 17 in the area of state Routes 879 and 153, Lawrence Township. During a traffic stop, officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from an 18-year-old Indiana, Pa., man’s vehicle. A search allegedly turned up a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed through the district court.
- Police reported an incident of child endangerment and drug possession Oct. 16 on 19th Street, Lawrence Township. According to police, information was received about a 44-year-old Clearfield woman having drugs in her home, including in common living areas, while also having a child there. A search allegedly turned up crystal methamphetamine, marijuana and around 50 items of drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed through the district court.
Curwensville Borough
- Police stopped an all-terrain vehicle, which led officers on a pursuit. The driver was subsequently apprehended.
- Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Walnut Street. It was found to be verbal in nature and both parties were advised to desist.
- Police responded to reported child custody issues at a Walnut Street residence. The caller was found to have warrants, taken into custody and put in county jail.
- Police conducted a warrant service Monday on Meadow Street. A female was taken into custody and put in county jail.
- Police responded to a reported mental health crisis. Upon arrival, the individual was transported to the hospital by emergency medical services.
- Police received a report of trespassing at the Curwensville Commons. Upon arrival, the male was found to have warrants.
- Police were dispatched to a Schofield Street residence for a report of two individuals who were reportedly trespassing but who had fled the scene. Police were able to locate both and found they were juveniles.
- Police received a report about a possible DUI at Snappy’s Convenience Store. Police stopped the male driver and administered field sobriety testing; he was subsequently transported to the hospital for a legal blood draw.
