DUBOIS – The Curwensville Lady Tide basketball squad stepped up from its 2A classification on Tuesday night and went up against 5A DuBois on the Lady Beavers’ home floor.
The results were somewhat predictable as DuBois dumped the Lady Tide by a score of 64-22 to even its season record at 7-7.
DuBois wasted little time in taking control of the mismatch, winning the first quarter 22-8 and then going into halftime up 39-12.
It didn’t get any better in the second 16 minutes either as the Lady Beavers outscored the Lady Tide 25-12 to pick up the expected victory.
Alyssa Bakaysa had nine points for the Lady Tide followed by seven from Joslynne Freyer.
The Lady Beavers were paced on the offensive end by Abby Guiher with 21 points, which included three treys.
Neither team had many trips to the foul line as Curwensville was two of five and DuBois was two of two.
There was no junior varsity game.
Curwensville (5-8) will play at Moniteau on Thursday night.
