DUBOIS – A routine traffic stop made Jan. 10 in DuBois City resulted in a large-scale drug bust.
At Monday night’s council meeting, Police Chief Blaine Clark reported that officers seized six pounds of marijuana, a half-pound of methamphetamine and four ounces of mushrooms.
There was also $5,101 in cash, Clark said, adding that the total value of the drugs and cash combined was $34,447.
Clark said contact was made with the driver who was known to be on probation, and officers could detect the odor of marijuana. The car was then seized and a search warrant was obtained for further investigation.
In other business, City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio reminded that the city’s “Back the Blue” program is still ongoing, and gives the community an opportunity to support local police with the purchase of T-shirts.
