DUBOIS – The Sandy Township Supervisors on Monday heard an update on the joint consolidation study being done on the township and DuBois City.
Township Manager Shawn Arbaugh said he, City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio and their project consultants were all on the same page.
He said they expect to have a revised draft on Dec. 23 that he will present to the supervisors at a later date. He expects Suplizio will also present the revised draft to DuBois City Council.
Arbaugh noted the study into the consolidation of the Sandy and DuBois fire departments will continue but has hit a “road block.”
The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) is engaged in this part of the study but is limiting department travel through June of 2021.
Currently, Arbaugh said they’re looking for alternative methods that will permit DCED to complete its work on the study.
In other business, the supervisors reported receipt of 75 percent of the Sandy Township Fire Department’s COVID-19-related personal protective equipment (PPE).
The supervisors also voted to make a $1,000 contribution to the veteran’s memorial that is being planned in Treasure Lake near the Lakeview Lodge.
The supervisors will also purchase a brick in the amount of $350, and possibly a replica for an additional $50.
