CLEARFIELD – A drive-through COVID-19 testing site will open Sunday, Dec. 27 in Clearfield.
At Tuesday’s county commissioners’ meeting, Scott Mignot, deputy of training & operations/Clearfield County Department of Public Safety, announced the Pennsylvania Department of Health has contracted with AMI to provide the COVID testing.
According to the company’s Web site, AMI is on the front-lines working with states, agencies and companies to deploy broad-based COVID-19 testing to ensure a safe workforce, safe schools and a safe workplace.
“AMI has the capability and experience to provide broad-based deployable COVID-19 testing. We perform ongoing diagnostic or serological tests in any building, drive-through or walk-up delivery setting.”
Mignot said drive-through testing will be done at the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center, located at 1620 River Rd., Clearfield. Testing will be available from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Dec. 27 – 31, on a first come, first serve basis (no appointment is necessary).
He said AMI will perform the mid-nasal passage swab PCR test, and up to 450 patients can be tested each day. Patients must be ages 3 years or older, and are not required to exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms in order to be tested.
Mignot said patients are encouraged to provide a photo identification or insurance card. Registration will be completed on-site, and there’s absolutely no cost to patients. He said patients can expect test results within two to seven days.
