CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners addressed several items of business during Tuesday’s board meeting.
The commissioners:
- approved a change order with Doing Better Business for additional costs related to document scanning in the Prothonotary & Clerk of Courts office. This, Commissioner Dave Glass said, is part of the county’s efforts to make documents available online and to limit the number of people entering the courthouse due to COVID-19 concerns. He said Doing Better Business initially estimated the cost to be $100,150 but later determined there were significantly more documents and requested a change order to cover an additional $150,597.30 to be paid with CARES Funds.
- approved agreements with Otis Elevator to install cab air purifiers in the elevators in the county’s administrative office building and courthouse to be paid for with CARES funds. The cost is $3,500 per elevator. The vote passed 2-1 with Commissioner John A. Sobel casting the opposing vote because there was no guarantee the system would eliminate the transmission of COVID-19.
- authorized the board to disburse additional CARES funds to municipalities at its discretion dependent upon fund availability and then to enter into addendum agreements.
- adopted Ordinance 2-2020, an amendment to the county’s Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, effective Jan. 1, 2021. Planning Director Jodi Brennan said the amendment incorporates some design requirements, such as landscaping, lighting, etc. For more information, click here.

- approved the bills as presented by the Controller’s office.
