PSP Clearfield
State police are investigating a report of theft by deception. The victim reported that he was scammed by a fake facebook account that led him to purchase gift cards from various retail stores, provide the number to the scammer in return for false promises of large amounts of cash. The investigation continues.
State police engaged in a pursuit with a gray SUV on the Clearfield Woodland Hwy. in Bradford Twp. on Nov. 23 at approximately 6:30 p.m.. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the operator is asked to contact PSP Clearfield.
State police conducted a traffic stop on Deer Creek Rd. in Morris Twp. for a window tint violation. Upon contact with the driver it was found that the male was under the influence. He was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI.
State police responded to a motorcycle accident on Allport Cutoff in Morris Twp. The operator of a Kawasaki Ninja was traveling north when she failed to negotiate a right hand curve, striking a traffic sign which caused her to be ejected. The operator was wearing a helmet but sustained suspected serious injury. She was transported via Life Flight to UPMC Hospital in Altoona for treatment. Alcohol was a factor in the crash. Charges are pending blood alcohol results.
State police initiated a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle out of Vermont near mile marker 124 on I-80 in Bradford Twp. The operator, Brian Robert, 40, of Hartford, VT was taken into custody. He is currently being housed in the Clearfield Co. Jail.
