HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that as of 12 a.m., Nov. 13, there were 5,531 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state-wide total to 254,387 and marking the highest daily increase of cases.
According to the department’s Web site, Clearfield County has had 759 total cases since March and eight deaths while 10,766 patients have tested negative for the virus. Of those cases, 600 are confirmed and 159 are probable.
The number of tests administered within the last seven days, between Nov. 6 and Nov. 12, is 332,640 with 28,290 positive cases. There were 54,399 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., Nov. 12, which is a record high number of PCR test results.
As of 11:59 p.m., Nov. 12, there were 30 new deaths reported for a total of 9,224 Pennsylvania deaths attributed to COVID-19. County-specific information and a state-wide map are available on the COVID-19 Data Dashboard.
There are 7,612 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 645 individuals who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
There are 2,523,984 individuals who have tested negative state-wide to date. Of those who have tested positive, the age breakdown is as follows:
- Approximately 1 percent are ages 0-4;
- Approximately 2 percent are ages 5-12;
- Approximately 5 percent are ages 13-18;
- Approximately 13 percent are ages 19-24;
- Approximately 36 percent are ages 25-49;
- Approximately 21 percent are ages 50-64; and
- Approximately 20 percent are ages 65 or older.
There are 2,196 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19, state health officials say. Of that number, 448 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19.
Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older. More data is available here.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 28,990 resident cases of COVID-19, and 6,028 cases among employees, for a total of 35,018 at 1,144 distinct facilities in 63 counties.
Out of the total deaths, 6,052 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. A county breakdown can be found here.
It was also noted that approximately 13,315 of Pennsylvania’s total cases are among health care workers.
Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine reminds that mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home, and consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
