CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners on Tuesday approved the 2020 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application.
Community Development Specialist Lisa Kovalick said the county will utilize $221,768 of its allocation to assist the Huston Township Water Authority with waterline improvements.
She said due to the poor conditions of the waterlines and supply tank, the authority is losing potable water and is under an order from the state Department of Environmental Protection to replace the lines.
Clearfield Borough
Kovalick said Clearfield Borough will utilize $94,698 of its allocation for flood protection, as well as stormwater and street improvements in the West Side area.
She said residents of Clearfield Street, from Soult to Turnpike avenues, have stormwater runoff in their yards and basements. Funds will be used to replace the old stormwater piping that has collapsed.
Lawrence Township
Kovalick said Lawrence Township will utilize $107,365 of its allocation for storm-sewer and street improvements in the Kerr area on Palmer and Patton streets and Kerr Avenue.
