Police received a report of a retail theft at the Walmart Supercenter. Michael Wells, 50, of Clearfield failed to scan merchandise at the self-checkout. A review of surveillance resulted in additional retail theft occurrences. Charges have been filed.
Police responded to a domestic in progress involving a knife on Valley View Drive. Upon investigation it was learned that a male chased a female victim with the knife threatening to kill her and her family. The male was taken into custody and housed in the Clearfield County Jail. Charges have been filed.
Clearfield Borough
Police were provided a tip in reference to a male attempting to purchase a firearm while also containing an active warrant. Police made contact with the male.
Police responded to a report of children chasing an adult male with sticks. Police arrived on scene and found that the male had yelled obscenities at the children resulting in the children chasing him. All parties involved were given a warning for their actions.
Police received a report of illegal fireworks being lit in the area of E 6th St. Police checked the area with negative results.
Police received reports of political yard signs being damaged and/or stolen. Police are investigating the incidents.
Police were dispatched for a suspicious person walking around a vehicle. Police arrived and located a male who was searching for a skunk in the area.
This department assisted Curwensville Police with transporting a 302 patient to the ER. The patient later attempted to escape the hospital but police responded and assisted with transport to a different facility.

State police received a report that unknown person(s) cut the victim’s internet and phone cable outside a residence in Osceola Borough.
State police responded to an altercation on Brisbin St. in Houtzdale Borough where the victim was intentionally spit on. The accused was charged with disorderly conduct.
