CLEARFIELD – During the Clearfield County Commissioners’ meeting on Tuesday, 911 Dispatcher Vicky Hoover was honored for helping local authorities hunt down a Lawrence Township murder suspect.
Anthony Grant Boone, 36, of Howard allegedly shot 40-year-old Rebecca Solt of Clearfield approximately three or four times, killing her last Thursday afternoon outside a home in the 2100 block of Legion Road.
The manhunt ended at approximately 2 p.m. Friday when Boone was taken into police custody on the Hogback Bridge in Pike Township, according to a previously-published GANT News report.
“A young lady lost her life tragically at the hands of a violent perpetrator,” Commissioner Chairman Tony Scotto said, and a manhunt ensued with manpower from multiple municipal police departments and Pennsylvania State Police.
Over the next 24 hours, Hoover was heavily relied upon to provide logistical and inter- police agency information.
“Without your help, some officers would have been lost,” expressed District Attorney Ryan Sayers. “It was pretty much a logistical nightmare … but they were able to hunt him down and find him thanks to you.”
Hoover – who’s been a dispatcher for over 20 years – graciously accepted the commendation but deflected credit to the great team she’s a part of. “It’s not just one person.”
