CURWENSVILLE – Curwensville Lake will hold its first Muskie Fishing “Chal-lunge” Tournament on Saturday, May 30, beginning at 7 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m.
Fisherman from throughout the state will test their skills to win one of the top three cash prizes of $500 for first, $300 for second and $200 for third place.
The event is catch and release only. Fisherman will photograph any muskie (or any non-muskie) caught along with the tournament date stamp card.
The fish is then released. Boats should return to shore at 4 p.m. Photos are submitted at the tournament’s end for competition purposes.
Registration is from 5 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. with boats launching at 6:45 a.m. Registration is $40 or $35 if you bring two non-perishable food items for the local food bank.
In conjunction with the tournament, coordinator Cody Fye will present a free talk “Fish of the Lake” on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the marina.
Everyone is invited to attend this informative talk, which will be geared toward children and adults.
