CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area United Way (CAUW) is helping residents with prescription savings resources during the coronavirus pandemic through its partnership with FamilyWize.
FamilyWize is an organization focused on improving the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities. Residents can receive savings on medications by using the free FamilyWize prescription program card.
Since it’s not required to present a card when residents have a script filled or re-filled at their pharmacy, they can provide the following information: “BIN – 610194; Card ID – FW100; Group ID – FW100; and PCN: FW.”
“Through the years, county residents have saved over $65,000,” said Nancy Pinto, chief professional officer, Clearfield Area United Way.
She said the free FamilyWize prescription savings card immediately lowers the cost of prescription medications by an average of 45 percent, and can be used with or without insurance.
Pinto also noted that registration is not required for the FamilyWize program, and there aren’t any eligibility guidelines.
“Residents struggle with the high costs of prescriptions and need help, especially now,” she said.
She said Familywize’s support team is available to not only help residents with access to affordable medications, but also to work with local pharmacies on at-home delivery.
Pinto provided these three steps for how residents can receive help with discounts and at-home delivery of prescription medications:
- Call the FamilyWize toll-free number at 800-222-2818.
- A FamilyWize team member will then work with the local, participating pharmacy to arrange and schedule an at-home delivery.
- Ask the pharmacist to apply the FamilyWize card number to receive the prescription discount.
