HYDE — Clearfield Elementary wrestlers participated in the Area 5 tournament this past Sunday at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School.
Eight Bison wrestlers were able to finish in the top-2 of their weight classes to qualify for the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling (PJW) State Tournament in Pittsburgh March 14-15.
Leading the way for the Bison wrestlers were Brady Collins (11/12 age group – 100 lbs.) winning his fifth consecutive Area 5 title, Sonny Diehl winning her second title, and Colton Ryan (11/12 – 80) won his first.
Placing second were Mathew Rowles (9/10 – 60), Bo Aveni (9/10 – 65), Brayden Wills (9/10 – 120), Colton Bumbarger (11/12 90) and Hunter Ressler (11/12 – 135).
