WINDBER — Upset a week a go by the Glendale Vikings on the road, the Windber Ramblers (1-1) took out their frustration on the visiting Curwensville Golden Tide (0-2), winning in dominating fashion, 44-0.
The Tide did not go down without a fight, however, holding off the Mercy Rule until midway through the fourth quarter despite being down 23-0 at the half.
Luke Hostetler led the Ramblers with 177 yards on 22 carries and four touchdowns on the ground.
R.J. Tallion also eclipsed the century mark for Windber, as he had 111 yards on 10 carries.
In all, the Rambler had 471 yards on the ground as they only threw five passes, completing two for 52 yards.
The Tide were held to negative three yards in the first half, with no first downs.
They had a better showing offensively in the second half as quarterback Tyler Dunn ended the night 9 of 17 for 106 yards, despite being sacked six times and throwing one interception.
The Tide will be back in the friendly confines of Andy Evanko Stadium next Friday night at 7 PM when they host the undefeated Mt. Union Trojans (2-0).
