CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners on Tuesday voted to appoint Dr. David S. Jaslow as the county’s medical command physician for Emergency Medical Services.
Commissioner Tony Scotto said Jaslow has a specialized degree in emergency medicine, and will be a very valuable asset for the county’s 911 Department.
“He’ll help with protocols for our emergency responders,” Scotto explained, adding that it won’t have any financial impact because 911 Funds will be used.
Commissioner Dave Glass said that Jaslow is “very passionate” about EMS. Additionally, Commissioner John A. Sobel noted that Jaslow started out as a first responder himself before going on to medical school and more specialized training in EMS.
“He serves many communities throughout the commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” Sobel said, “and is certainly an expert in the field.”
Scotto and Sobel said Jaslow is based out of Montgomery County, and will serve as a consultant for Clearfield County 911. It was also noted that he’s an emergency room doctor with Penn Highlands Healthcare in Clearfield and DuBois.
In other business, the commissioners:
- approved an agreement with ES&S to print the General Primary Election ballots. The commissioners noted that in the future, they would like to have the ballots printed locally, but with the voting systems being newly-implemented, they collectively agreed it was best to go with ES&S to reduce confusion and also due to time constraints.
