State police at Ridgway
- A Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal unit investigated a structure fire Wednesday at 77 Bloom Ln., in Union Township, Clearfield County. According to the report, it occurred at approximately 4 p.m. when combustible material came into contact with a wood burner; it was subsequently ruled accidental in nature. State police say that the fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damage to the interior of the structure. No injuries were reported.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about an item of drug paraphernalia that was located on Bridge Street. Police retrieved and disposed of the item.
- Police received a report about a woman who was heard screaming inside a residence. Upon arrival on-scene, an elderly woman was found lying on the floor, and she was in need of medical assistance. Officers assisted the woman until the arrival of emergency personnel. It was noted that police also located multiple drug-related items inside the residence.
- Police received a report about a possible theft on Bigler Avenue. According to police, a known female entered the victim’s home and removed approximately $300 in toiletry items. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police obtained information on the whereabouts of a wanted male on West Locust Street. Upon arrival, police received permission to search the residence and he was located hiding in the attic. Police took the male into custody without incident.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an incident of public drunkenness Feb. 2 in the area of U.S. Route 322 and Kurtz Road. According to police, the caller said a male was lying on the side of the roadway near the Goldenrod Storage Sheds. Upon arrival on-scene, contact was made with a 17-year-old male juvenile and he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and marijuana. Police say he was transported to his mother’s residence and placed into her care.
- Police received a report about a theft that occurred Feb. 3 at Sheetz in Lawrence Township. During the incident, two females allegedly entered the store and removed a lottery ticket from the counter. Then, they left without paying for it but were quickly identified by police. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle theft Friday on Susquehanna Avenue, Hyde. According to police, a black Ford Mustang (PA registration KZG-4767) was stolen from a residence. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
Sandy Township
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle crash Wednesday in Sandy Township. According to police, a 16-year-old Treasure Lake girl lost control of her vehicle on Treasure Lake Road when a truck crossed the centerline, causing her vehicle to drift off the roadway and strike a tree. No injuries were reported as a result, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
- On Wednesday police were contacted by employees of Royer’s 219 Auto Sales who reported that someone jacked up the rear of a pick-up truck on the lot, and then removed its rear wheels. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- On Thursday police were contacted by a Pacific Avenue resident who said there was an unknown male walking around the neighborhood and he appeared to be suspicious. However, he was gone upon police arrival.
- On Thursday police were contacted about a loose dog in the area of Wigwam Avenue, and it had reportedly jumped on the caller’s wife. Police located the dog and the owner; the situation was handled on-scene.
- On Thursday police were contacted by a 30-year-old Hanes Drive woman who reported being harassed by a 15-year-old neighbor boy.
