State police at Rockview
- State police conducted a traffic stop that resulted in drug violations Jan. 29 on Interstate 99 north in Patton Township, Centre County. As a result, charges are currently pending against a 21-year-old Clearfield woman.
- State police are investigating a possible case of child abuse that occurred between Aug. 1, 2019 and Nov. 30, 2019 on North Seventh Street in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. No further information is available at this time.
- State police are currently investigating a Megan’s Law non-compliance violation that occurred Jan. 10 on Birch Run Road, in Snow Shoe Township, Centre County.
- State police conducted a traffic stop that resulted in a drug-related DUI Jan. 28 in the area of North Centre and Alder streets in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. During the stop, a 55-year-old Winburne man was allegedly found to be driving under the influence and in possession of a controlled substance and related paraphernalia.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to a reported medical emergency at a West First Avenue residence. Upon arrival, police found a female having difficulty breathing, and emergency personnel were summoned to the scene.
- Police conducted a traffic stop along Nichols Street and arrested the vehicle’s operator for reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
- Police received a report about a white van traveling the wrong way in the area of South Second Street. Police were able to locate the vehicle, and found it was a lost motorist from out of state.
- Police located two juveniles along Park Avenue after curfew, and they were transported to their residence.
- Police received a report about a domestic dispute on East Walnut Street. Upon arrival on-scene, police found a male and female shouting obscenities at each other. Police separated the couple for the evening.
- Police responded to a report of an activated alarm on Leavy Avenue. Upon arrival on-scene, police found that a tenant had burned their food.
- Police responded to an activated alarm along Spruce Street. Upon arrival on-scene, police found everything to be OK.
- Police assisted Clearfield Jefferson Mental Health with serving a mental health warrant on a Spruce Street female. She was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
- Police received a report about a female threatening self-harm on North Second Street. Upon arrival on-scene, police found she was suffering from mental health issues, and she was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
- Police assisted a motorist who had locked their keys inside their vehicle along Reed Street.
- Police received a report about a male passed out inside a vehicle on Nichols Street. However, the vehicle was gone upon police arrival on-scene.
- Police arrested a male for DUI after he was stopped along East Market Street for a traffic violation. He was reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
- Police received a report about someone on the back porch of a Park Avenue residence. Upon arrival on-scene, police did not locate anyone.
- Police conducted a vehicle stop along Krebs Avenue and discovered a passenger had an active warrant. Police say the male was able to satisfy the warrant on-scene.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with apprehending suspects in a reported burglary incident.
- Police arrested a male on several active warrants, through the Clearfield County and Clarion County Sheriff’s Offices, at an Ogden Avenue residence. He was transported to county jail on the warrants.
- Police conducted a traffic stop on East Market Street. According to police, the driver showed signs of intoxication, and he was administered field sobriety tests. Afterwards, he was placed into custody and refused a chemical test of blood. Police released the male to a sober adult.
- Police received a report about a male who was possibly passed out inside a vehicle at a business on Nichols Street. Upon arrival on-scene, police found the male is required to have an ignition interlock system in his vehicle. Police say he didn’t have the system in place, and will be issued various citations.
- Police responded to a reported psychological emergency on East Market Street. Upon arrival on-scene, contact was made with a female who agreed to be transported to Penn Highlands Clearfield for mental health treatment.
- Police responded to a report of an activated alarm at a business on Spruce Street. Upon arrival on-scene, police found everything to be OK, and notified the owners of the incident.
- Police responded to a report of an activated fire alarm at the Henry Myers Towers. Upon arrival on-scene, it was found that the alarm was activated by burning food.
- Police conducted a traffic stop for multiple violations on Nichols Street. According to police, the driver showed signs of intoxication, and was subsequently administered field sobriety tests. He reportedly couldn’t finish the testing and was placed into custody for DUI. Police say he refused a chemical test of blood and was released to a sober adult.
- Police reported a wanted male was taken into custody at an Ogden Avenue residence. He was subsequently transported and lodged in county jail on warrants.
- Police conducted a traffic stop on Merrill Street and it was discovered that a passenger had an active warrant through the department. However, he was able to satisfy his warrant on-scene.
- Police reported that a tire was found lying in the middle of the intersection of South Third and East Walnut streets. According to police, it’s apparently a spare Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tire with a gray steel rim. Additionally, police say that it’s large enough to belong to a pick-up truck or sports utility vehicle. - Police reported that a Moshannon Valley High School class ring was located on a parking meter in Clearfield Borough. Police say it was from the graduating class of 1987 and has the initials “KWB.” The owner can contact the station at 814-765-7819.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report of access device fraud Jan. 27. According to police, money was taken from a 57-year-old Clearfield man’s bank account and used for gambling. Police say he alerted his financial institution, which froze his account. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police reported an incident of DUI occurred Sunday on South Second Street. According to police, a 66-year-old Clearfield man was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, and was taken to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital for a legal blood draw after he failed field sobriety testing. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police reported a drug-related DUI occurred Saturday in the parking lot at Sid’s Six Pack. During a traffic stop, a 25-year-old Clearfield man was allegedly found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Police say a subsequent search of his vehicle yielded marijuana and other assorted paraphernalia. The man was transported to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital for a legal blood draw, then released to a sober individual. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police reported a DUI occurred Sunday on Woodland Road. During a traffic stop, a 30-year-old Clearfield man was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol to the degree that he was incapable of safely operating a vehicle. He was subsequently transported to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital for a legal blood draw, then released to a sober individual. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about a domestic disturbance Saturday on Servomation Drive. During the incident, two Clearfield men were involved in an argument that turned physical in nature. Police say a 44-year-old man punched a 22-year-old man in the face, then left the residence when a call was made to police. Citations for harassment and disorderly conduct are currently pending at this time.
- Police reported a drug violation occurred Friday on Washington Avenue. During a traffic stop, a 37-year-old Clearfield man, identified as Ray Ross Jr., was found to have outstanding warrants. Upon further investigation, he was allegedly found in possession of loaded needles, a spoon and other drug paraphernalia. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Lawrence Township and Clearfield Borough police conducted DUI roving patrols from 11 p.m. Saturday through 3 a.m. Sunday on roadways within the borough and township. According to the report, police made four DUI arrests and one drug arrest, as well as issued four traffic citations and 28 written warnings. The joint patrol efforts will continue throughout 2020, and police remind all motorists to buckle up.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a report of a pole down and a possible accident in the area of Water and Filbert streets. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police located a suspicious vehicle in the area of Bloomington Avenue. Upon investigation, police didn’t find anything criminal in nature.
- Police responded to a mental health incident, and one person was transported by ambulance for treatment.
- Police conducted a welfare check on McNaul Street, and everything was found to be OK.
- Police conducted a welfare check after children called 911 from the Curwensville Commons. Upon arrival, police found everything was OK, and talked to the children about only calling 911 for emergencies.
- Emergency and fire personnel were assisted with a landing zone at the Curwensville High School.
- Police, along with the Curwensville Street Department, assisted a local truck driver on Susquehanna Avenue with shutting down the roadway for a short period of time in order to unload equipment.
- Police received a report about criminal mischief to vehicles at the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging’s meal facility. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
- Police arrested a female for reportedly driving under the influence in the area of George and Maxwell streets.
- Police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief at the Curwensville Commons. During the incident, unknown individuals allegedly broke into the change machine on a washer; however, it didn’t appear that anything was stolen. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
