CURWENSVILLE – It was a worthwhile and successful road trip for the Johnsonburg boys basketball team on Friday night, as they beat up on Curwensville, 57-26, at Patton Hall, home of the Golden Tide.
A fast start by the Rams and a slow start for the Golden Tide helped Johnsonburg to a 29-14 halftime advantage.
The Tide hung with the Rams in the third stanza, only being outscored 11-10, but the fourth quarter sealed the deal for Johnsonburg with a 17-2 bulge.
Junior Trev or Lansberry paced the Golden Tide offense with 10 tallies.
The Rams had three players in double digits led by Gabe Watts with 20, followed by 18 from Austin Green and another 12 points by Eric Christoff.
Johnsonburg connected on seven three-pointers.
In the junior varsity contest it was Johnsonburg coming away with a 33-22 victory over the Tide. High scorer for the Golden Tide was Landon Swatsworth with seven points.
Curwensville (2-15) travels to play DuBois Central Catholic on Tuesday, in DuBois. The JV game tips off at 6 pm with the varsity to immediately follow.
Earlier this season the Cardinals defeated the Golden Tide in Curwensville, 45-30.
