Lawrence Township
- Police conducted a traffic stop that resulted in an ignition interlock system violation Thursday on state Route 879. According to the report, officers observed 38-year-old Justin Unch of Clearfield operating a vehicle and it was confirmed that he was required to have an ignition interlock system. However, police say he was operating his vehicle without the system in place. Unch was charged with the violation, and will be scheduled for a preliminary hearing in the future.
- Police received a report about an incident of trespassing Thursday on Baneyville Road in Clearfield. During the incident, a male was allegedly found trespassing on posted property in the area. Police spoke with the caller and were provided photographs; the investigation is ongoing at this time.
Sandy Township
- On Wednesday police were contacted by Wal-Mart employees about a 49-year-old Reynoldsville woman who had been inside the store for several hours and who was falling asleep inside the vestibule. Upon arrival, officers asked her to leave, which she did with minimal problems.
- On Thursday police reported that a 35-year-old Curwensville man was caught by Wal-Mart employees, while he allegedly attempted to take $95.75 worth of baseball cards without paying for them. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Thursday police were contacted by a 56-year-old Treasure Lake man who had received a fraudulent call from someone who claimed to be with the Social Security Administration. According to police, the caller told the man there were warrants out for his arrest, and then they sought to verify his social security number and date of birth. He recognized the call as a scam and hung up. Police would like to remind residents: to never provide personal or financial information out over the phone; that reputable agencies will not request personal information by phone; and law enforcement agencies will not resolve warrant issues by phone.
- On Thursday police received a report about a 14-year-old student who allegedly damaged a classroom and injured staff at the Soaring Heights School. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police assisted two tractor-trailer drivers with the exchange of information after a minor accident in the Pilot parking lot on Thursday.
