CLEARFIELD – A state prison inmate will be spending additional time in state prison for squirting urine into a corrections officer’s face.

Angel Manuela Ortiz, 27, was charged with a felony count of aggravated harassment by prisoner after an incident at the state prison at Houtzdale on June 20.

He pleaded guilty before Judge Paul Cherry Tuesday during sentencing court where he was sentenced to 21 months to four years in state prison.

The new sentence will run consecutive to his current sentence on drug charges from Philadelphia.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, a CO was serving food to inmates when he went to Ortiz’s cell. Ortiz refused to remove his arms from the feeding aperture because he did not change the channel on the TV for Ortiz.

The CO left but when he came back, Ortiz squirted urine from a shampoo bottle into the officer’s face.

A witness confirmed the CO’s story and lab results from the officer’s shirt confirmed the substance was urine.
