CLEARFIELD – Charges are currently pending against a 29-year-old Philipsburg man for fraudulent/deceptive business practices, Lawrence Township police say.
At 3 p.m. Thursday, police say a report was received about a possible case of theft by deception on Turnpike Avenue in Clearfield.
The victim told police he hired the man to complete home repairs, and paid for more than $1,300 worth of materials that were never delivered and for labor that allegedly caused $11,500 in damage.
Police say charges of criminal mischief, fraudulent/deceptive business practices, theft by deception and receiving stolen property are pending at this time.
