State police at Clearfield
- State police say charges are pending against a 28-year-old Winburne man following a pursuit Jan. 11. According to the report, troopers attempted a traffic stop on Trolley Street in Cooper Township; however, the driver refused to stop and a vehicular pursuit ensued. From north Trolley Street, it continued onto Valley Road, then south onto Schoolhouse Road and east onto Hardscrabble Road. Here, the driver proceeded to travel onto a trail and fled on foot, and a foot pursuit ensued through a wooded area. State police say the driver whose identity is known wasn’t located, and the appropriate charges will be filed through the district court.
- State police received a report about a theft Dec. 16 on Main Street in Bigler Township. During the incident, a 23-year-old Ohio man allegedly removed a generator from the Dollar General construction site. He was later located in Ohio and the generator was recovered. The man, identified as Matthew Smith, 23, of Ohio, was charged for the incident through the district court.
State police at DuBois
- State police received a theft case from the Clearfield County District Attorney’s office on Monday. According to state police, a 33-year-old Rockton man paid over $5,000 to a 51-year-old Brockport man to complete a remodeling job on his garage back in May of 2019. However, work was allegedly never completed for the victim who also didn’t receive any compensation back. The investigation is continuing at this time.
