State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about a trespassing incident Dec. 11 on Wippers Road in Gulich Township. During the incident, a 58-year-old Blandburg man allegedly shot a deer on a Houtzdale man’s property. The property was properly posted, state police say; charges are currently pending through the district court.
- State police received a report about a theft that occurred sometime Nov. 20-21 on Gertrude Street in Chester Hill Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly stole a Philipsburg woman’s Christmas decorations from her yard, including two small flagpoles, two snowman flags and two attached, blue battery lights. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police conducted a traffic stop that resulted in a DUI on Sunday in the area of Harmony and Anchor Inn roads in Young Township. According to state police, the driver, a 52-year-old Brookville man, was found to be under the influence. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- State police received a report about a burglary that occurred sometime between Nov. 29 and Saturday on Lost Hill Road in Ringgold Township. During the incident, someone allegedly gained entry to an unsecured storage facility and removed two batteries from Farmall tractors; four wagon pins; a battery for a Chevrolet truck; miscellaneous tools; and approximately 10 quarts of motor oil. State police say the suspect also removed a catalytic converter and battery from a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado that was parked outside the facility. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at $500. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-938-0510.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a disturbance Friday on Good Street in Lawrence Township. According to police, two people said their neighbor, a 31-year-old Clearfield man, entered their property yelling and holding a machete. Upon arrival on-scene, officers located the man at his residence, and he was taken into custody. He was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance, and housed in county jail to await arraignment on charges of simple assault, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and harassment.
- Police conducted a traffic stop that resulted in a drug violation Saturday in the Sheetz parking lot in Lawrence Township. According to police, contact was made with three individuals and it was found that a passenger, identified as 30-year-old Brittany Watson of Clearfield, had a warrant through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department. She was also allegedly in possession of hypodermic needles, other drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine and marijuana. She was subsequently housed in county jail on the warrant with charges pending.
- Police received a report about a contraband incident Thursday at the Clearfield County Jail. According to police, a Winburne man was in possession of methamphetamine after a Department of Corrections k-9 search at the facility. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police conducted a traffic stop that resulted in a warrant service and drug violation Sunday on Montgomery Run Road in Lawrence Township. According to police, contact was made with the driver – 55-year-old Tina Taylor from Clearfield – who had an active warrant through the Curwensville Borough police. It was also found that her passenger – 55-year-old Larry Elensky of Curwensville – had numerous warrants through multiple agencies. Both were taken into custody, at which point Taylor was allegedly found in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Both were housed in county jail and charges were filed through the district court.
- Police received a report about an assault Dec. 11 at the Clearfield County Jail. According to police, an inmate – 18-year-old Elizabeth Evans from Clearfield – appeared for centralized court, slipped her shackles in the courtroom and started to throw herself around on the floor. Jail staff gained control of Evans, who then allegedly spit on corrections officers, as they escorted her back to her cell. Police say Evans spit on COs on two separate occasions during the month of December; she’s been charged with aggravated harassment and disorderly conduct through the district court.
- Police responded to a drug-related incident Friday at the Economy Inn in Lawrence Township. According to police, an employee found suspected drugs and paraphernalia while cleaning a motel room. Upon further investigation, police determined the drugs and paraphernalia allegedly belonged to a 57-year-old Curwensville woman. Charges are currently pending at this time.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a verbal domestic Friday in the first block of West Scribner Avenue. Upon arrival, it was found to be a civil issue between roommates. Police determined everything was OK and cleared the scene.
- Police received a report about drug activity Friday in a parking lot in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. According to police, contact was made with a 38-year-old Penfield man and several items of drug paraphernalia were found inside his vehicle. Charges will be filed through the district court.
- Police encountered an intoxicated male Friday on First Street. According to police, the 56-year-old DuBois man was under the influence of alcohol, cited for public drunkenness and released to his mother.
- Police received a report about a disturbance Saturday at the Penn Highlands Emergency Room. Upon arrival, police say a couple was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and they wanted to drive home. Police advised both individuals to find a ride, which they did, and police cleared the scene,
- Police received a report about two males staggering Saturday along Olive Avenue. Upon arrival on-scene, police were unable to locate them.
- Police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief to a vehicle Saturday in the 800 block of West Washington Avenue. Upon arrival, police were unable to locate anyone.
- On Saturday police received a report about an alleged assault that occurred in the 100 block of East Park Avenue. Charges are currently pending at this time.
