DuBois City
- Police received a report about a lost wallet on Sunday. According to police, a man said he received a ride to the Sheetz store, and when he got there, he found out his wallet was missing. Police viewed surveillance video and discovered the man had walked to the store. They walked with him back to an alley, and a wallet was found on the ground.
- On Sunday police were contacted by a female who reported that her father continually text-messaged her about another relative, and then threatened her.
- Police responded to a mental health situation Sunday on West Long Avenue. According to police, an elderly female was reportedly being combative; upon arrival, officers met with her caretaker. As they waited for emergency personnel to arrival on-scene, police didn’t believe the female appeared combative. Emergency personnel arrived, police confirmed everything was OK and cleared the scene.
- Police received an animal complaint Sunday on West Sheridan Avenue. According to police, the caller said a dog was behind a residence barking and howling, and was possibly injured. Upon arrival, police located the dog, which was trapped. Officers were able to release the dog, identify its owner and return it.
- Police received a report about a runaway juvenile Sunday on West Long Avenue. According to police, the father believed his son had gone to his girlfriend’s home in Brockway. Officers requested assistance from state police who located the juvenile there, took him into custody and to the city police station. Officers subsequently returned him to his residence where he was released to his father.
- Police received a report about a disturbance Sunday on East Second Avenue. Upon arrival, police said a male who stood on the front porch shouted: “shut up and get out of here,” as they questioned him about what happened. Police requested for the male to sit down because he was enraged and others were also yelling. Police then requested for everyone to calm down and proceeded to speak with the male and his mother inside. It was learned he’d allegedly “flipped out” and either pushed or punched another male who wasn’t any longer on-scene. When police exited the residence, that male was found with Sandy Township police, and he stated that nothing occurred and he just walked to get cigarettes. He arranged to stay somewhere else for the night and declined prosecution.
Sandy Township
- Police received a report about a man climbing into a drainage pipe Saturday on South Main Street. Upon arrival, officers located a 24-year-old man who stated he walked to his residence to retrieve some belongings. However, since his estranged wife has a Protection from Abuse order, he said he was afraid he’d get in trouble, so he called his mother for a ride and hid in the pipe. Officers handled the situation without incident.
- Police received a report about a vehicle being driven erratically Saturday along the Bee Line Highway in the area of the Red Lobster and Perkins restaurants. However, the vehicle was gone upon police arrival.
- Police received a report about a male and female involved in a disturbance Sunday at a local hotel. Upon arrival, it was found a 34-year-old Howard woman and her 35-year-old husband had been drinking and also started arguing. Both agreed to separate for the remainder of the evening.
- On Sunday police were contacted by a 30-year-old Arminta Street man who reported a suspicious vehicle followed his wife to their residence. Then, he said it pulled into a residence up the street, and also slowed down in front of their house again the next day.
- On Monday police arrested a 32-year-old DuBois man after he violated a PFA order held by his estranged girlfriend. He allegedly sent her a text-message from an Internet-based number.
- Police received a report about a minor motor vehicle crash Monday. According to police, a motorist rear-ended a vehicle on South Brady Street near Napa Auto Parts. Minor damage and no injuries occurred in the mishap.
- On Monday police were contacted by a Treasure Lake man who reported that someone used his name and company credentials to check into a hotel in South Carolina. Police said his accounts were not accessed, but the suspect did cause a problem at the hotel, which in turn contacted the man’s employer regarding the situation.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle crash Monday in Sandy Township. According to police, a vehicle driven by a 74-year-old Treasure Lake man pulled out of the Perkins parking lot, and struck a vehicle driven by 55-year-old Treasure Lake woman. No injuries occurred as a result, and one vehicle sustained a flat tire.
- On Monday police were contacted by a 54-year-old township resident who reported he received a message from a woman who claimed that he won a chainsaw. He said when he called back to inform her that he hadn’t entered a drawing, she hung up on him. Police would like to remind residents not to give out their personal information over the phone.
- On Monday police reported that a 57-year-old Penfield woman hit a deer while driving along the Watson Highway. No injuries occurred as a result, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
