CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield school board held a brief reorganizational meeting Wednesday night.
The board nominated and approved for Larry Putt and Greg Clarke to serve as president and vice president, respectively. It also approved for the Beard Legal Group to serve as its solicitor; Kayla Caragein was approved as its secretary.
In 2020, the board will continue to meet the third and fourth Monday of each month (unless otherwise noted), beginning at 6 p.m. in the library at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School.
It will hold committee meetings on the following dates: Jan. 20, Feb. 17, March 16, April 20, June 15, Aug. 17, Sept. 21, Oct. 19 and Nov. 16.
The board will hold voting meetings on the following dates: Jan. 27, Feb. 24, March 23, April 27, June 22, Aug. 24, Sept. 28, Oct. 26 and Nov. 23.
Combined committee and voting meetings will be held May 18 and July 27. Finally, the board will hold its reorganizational meeting on Dec. 2.
In other business, the board:
- approved for board member Phil Carr to be the district’s representative on the Joint Operating Committee (JOC) at the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center.
- approved for board member Shawna Rothrock to be the district’s representative to the Central Intermediate Unit No. 10.
- approved payment of the bills, as they become due subject to fund availability.
- approved an Act 1 Resolution certifying that it will not increase any school district tax for the 2020-21 year at a rate that exceeds its adjusted index of 3.6 percent.
