Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a suspicious male Friday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, Clearfield. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male who police say refused to provide his name. However, officers were familiar with him, and aware he didn’t have a driver’s license, which was confirmed. Police say he was also wanted through various agencies; the male was subsequently taken into custody and put in county jail on warrants.
Sandy Township
- Police received a barking dog complaint Nov. 15 in the area of Wayne Road and Oakland Avenue. However, the dogs were taken inside prior to police arrival.
- Police responded to a reported minor, two-vehicle crash Nov. 15 at the Blinker Sheetz. Both vehicles were driven from the scene, and no injuries were reported as a result.
- On Nov. 15, police were contacted by a 53-year-old Bridgeville woman who reported several hundred dollars’ worth of damage to landscaping at her Treasure Lake home. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police received a report about a suspicious male outside the Dubois Mall on Nov. 15. However, police say he entered a store, and officers were unable to locate him.
- On Nov. 15, police were contacted by a 57-year-old Treasure Lake man who reported that his ex-wife was harassing him via phone calls and text messages. Officers handled the situation without incident.
- On Nov. 15, police were contacted by a 54-year-old South Main Street woman who reported that her daughter’s estranged boyfriend was parked in her driveway. When she went to confront him, she said he fled the scene.
- On Nov. 16, police received a report about an alleged retail theft at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, DuBois. According to police, employees caught a 42-year-old Tozier Avenue woman when she attempted to leave the store without paying for $158.79 worth of merchandise. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Nov. 16, police were contacted by a 21-year-old Bridgeville woman who reported that someone hit her vehicle, causing damage. However, police say she wasn’t sure if it occurred at Planet Fitness, DuBois, or outside of Pittsburgh.
- On Nov. 16, police were contacted by a Petco employee who reported having observed two people dumpster diving behind the store. However, they were gone upon police arrival on-scene.
- Police responded to an activated alarm at the Dollar General, located on Shaffer Road, after store hours on Nov. 16. Upon arrival, officers found the front door wasn’t secure and the lights were on. Once inside the store, contact was made with a 49-year-old North Huntingdon man who immediately complied and reportedly stated he was just there to get juice. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- Police reported an incident of DUI occurred Nov. 16 in Sandy Township. According to police, a 62-year-old Falls Creek woman attempted to turn from West Long Avenue onto Quarry Avenue. However, she drove down an embankment, over a baseball field and then back onto Quarry Avenue. Officers subsequently conducted a traffic stop, at which point she was reportedly unable to perform simple commands. After field sobriety testing, police transported the woman to the hospital for a legal blood draw; charges are currently pending at this time.
