CLEARFIELD – The public is invited to be part of the premiere of the award-winning film “Live the Stream: The Story of Joe Humphreys.”
The screening of this 93-minute documentary film will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Ritz Theater, Clearfield. Tickets are $15 but are free for children 12 years and under.

According to a press release from Headwaters Charitable Trust, most people associate world-renowned fly fisherman Joe Humphreys with State College or Penn State University.
He spent 19 years as the fly-fishing instructor at the university, and he almost always wears what has become his trademark PSU cap.
“However, many do not know that this 92-year young man was born in Curwensville and lived here until age 6,” the release stated.
“As Joe entered the age where he began thinking about his ‘bucket list,’ one of the items on that list was to catch a trout on the rejuvenated West Branch of the Susquehanna River, which flows through Curwensville — a stream that he played in as a young boy.
“He contacted Pat Domico, with the Squirrel Tails for Trout program, to see if it could happen. Dreams do come true.”
Two sections of the West Branch are now stocked with trout by the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission, with additional stockings by Squirrel Tails for Trout, a citizen’s group.
“A special Squirrel Tails for Trout stocking occurred in Humphreys’ honor, and it only took the master about 25 minutes to hook and land his very first West Branch trout,” the release stated.
“Perhaps Pennsylvania’s most iconic fly fisher, Humphreys’ accomplishments are simply too many to list. He’s respected and revered both nationally and internationally.”
While he has fished with Jimmy Carter and Dick Cheney and hosted a show on ESPN, his favorite fishing partners have always been students. He’s also taught thousands – Penn State students, veterans and children who never caught a fish in their life.
