CLEARFIELD – The public is invited to join the Clearfield Area Chamber of Commerce and GANT News for a fun-filled evening of food and entertainment at the upcoming “Men Who Cook” event.
A sample of the chef’s creations will include beef brisket, chicken pasta asiago, barbecue ribs, shrimp tacos, lasagna, loaded baked potato soup, casseroles, an array of award-winning desserts and much more.
The lineup of cooks includes community leaders and businessmen who will showcase their culinary creations to benefit the Good Samaritan Center.
Participants will include:
- Ryan Sayers, local attorney and candidate for Clearfield County District Attorney;
- Mike Churner, Clearfield County sheriff and deputies;
- Willie Null, district manager, Clearfield County Conservation District;
- Tim Winters, Winters Enterprises;
- Brian Spencer, Clearfield County prothonotary;
- Gary Lyons, Pennsylvania Grain Processing;
- Mason Strouse, Clearfield Area Elementary School teacher and Clearfield Borough Council member;
- Pete Hess, Hess Contracting
- Sam Vitullo, store manager at Belding & Mull;
- Jesse Husted, guidance counselor, Curwensville School District and guitarist for Vision to None’
- John Sobel, Clearfield County commissioner;
- Josh Graham, chef at Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club
- Bob Daly, Good Samaritan Center
- Ty Ford, Ford Home Renovations
- Adam Peters, Hidden Star Country Kitchen; and
- Dave Glass, candidate for Clearfield County commissioner
This BYOB event will begin at 5 p.m. with the men offering samples of their “specialties.” Attendees will vote for their favorite dishes by placing money in a tip jar located at each station.
The cook who raises the most funds will win the coveted “Golden Fork” Award and will reign as the local celebrity chef.
After the sampling and voting, attendees will enjoy an evening of music and dancing with DJ Tim Winters. There will also be a silent auction featuring various cooking and grilling items and a 50/50.
The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Expo I Building at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds. Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Good Samaritan Center.
