FOX TOWNSHIP – A Penfield man died as a result of an accident Tuesday at the Greentree Landfill in Fox Township, Elk County.
According to Ridgway-based state police, 56-year-old Gary Haupt became pinned between a semi-trailer and a garbage tipper.
State police say Haupt sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Elk County Coroner Michelle Muccio.
State police say that Haupt’s death is believed to be accidental; however, the investigation is continuing at this time.
