CLEARFIELD – Next month, a Fire Prevention Week open house will be held at the Lawrence Township Fire Company No. 1 in Clearfield.
The event is being held from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8. Everyone is welcome to attend; refreshments will be provided.
This year’s theme is: “Not every hero wears a cape; plan and practice your escape!”
The event will feature kid’s games and an opportunity to “Touch A Truck.” Chase and Marshall from the animated, kid’s television series PAW Patrol will also make an appearance.
Local firefighters will give demonstrations, as well as teach about important subject areas, such as safety plans, meeting places and fire prevention basics.
Interested attendees will have an opportunity to speak with current fire company members and learn about membership and their volunteer service in the local community.
The fire company will be open and attendees are also invited to observe the newly-installed flag poles at its fallen firefighter memorial.
Anyone who is interested in donating food or door prizes for this event is asked to please contact a member or send a private message through the fire company’s Facebook page.
