CLEARFIELD – During the committee meetings for Clearfield Borough Council, Operations Manager Leslie Stott presented a press release regarding a community survey:
“Clearfield Borough Council is asking residents for their assistance with a demographic survey being conducted by the Clearfield County Planning Office. The survey is an important step in helping the borough make decisions on community development projects.
“County planning staff have been knocking on doors and calling residents that have been randomly selected by address. Prior to them going door-to-door, residents would have received a letter with the survey and then a follow up with a post card asking for the survey to be returned.
“If you have received a survey and not returned it, the borough urges you to call the planning office at 814-765-5149 and complete the six-question survey that takes just a few minutes of your time.
“We ask that you act quickly as the survey will close on Sept. 30.”
Stott further explained that they understand that many people do not want to give certain information out, but that the information is extremely important in order to receive Community Development Block Grant money from the state.
The survey will help determine if the borough qualifies as a low to low-moderate income residential area, which will then qualify the borough for grant money, which can then be used for projects, especially putting new roofs on the police and fire department buildings.
Residents with questions or concerns may contact the borough offices or the county planning office for more information.
