State police at Clearfield
- State police reported a drug-related DUI occurred Sunday on River Street in Curwensville Borough. According to state police, initial information was received about an African-American male “acting erratic” in the middle of the roadway. Upon arrival, he was found naked in the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. Upon further investigation, the 27-year-old male from McKees Rocks, Pa., was arrested for DUI and transported to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital for a legal blood draw. The investigation continues.
State police at DuBois
- State police reported a drug-related DUI occurred Wednesday on Interstate 80 at mile-marker 102.6 in Union Township. According to state police, a 25-year-old Easton man was stopped for a summary traffic violation. When contact was made, the trooper detected signs of impairment and a strong odor of burnt and raw marijuana in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up a small amount of the drug and paraphernalia. The man was subsequently arrested for DUI, drug possession and related offenses. Charges are currently pending at this time.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct and harassment Monday at the Clearfield County Jail. According to police, contact was made with Warden Greg Collins, who indicated a 27-year-old male from McKees Rocks, Pa., was housed on a 48-hour detainer. He said prior to the male’s release, corrections officers got him out for booking procedures. The male allegedly became disorderly and began to act combative with the COS. Collins said the male had to be taken to the ground to be restrained, then he was cuffed and shackled for the COs’ safety. Charges are currently pending against the male, who police say pushed and struck two COs; the COs sustained minor injuries in the process.
Curwensville Borough
- Police reported that three checks, which were filled out to an individual, were turned in. Anyone who is missing checks is asked to contact Curwensville Borough police.
- Pennsylvania State Police were assisted with a search for a missing person along Ann Street in Curwensville Borough. Police say the person was located and in good health.
- Police received a report about a theft from a McLaughlin Street residence. During the incident, someone allegedly removed a washer, dryer and lawn mower. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report about a possible assault. According to police, a female was located and she was covered in blood. However, it was determined she had fallen; she was transported by ambulance for treatment.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment. Both persons were advised to cease contact with each other.
- Police assisted a female who was locked out of her residence along Meadow Street.
- Pennsylvania State Police were assisted with a search for a missing person on Windy hill Road. Police say the male was located and transported by emergency personnel.
- Police responded to a reported hit-and-run crash on West Second Avenue. According to police, several mailboxes were damaged, and the investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Curwensville Borough Police.
- Police handled a Protection from Abuse Order violation, which resulted in a male being taken into custody.
- Police handled an incident of harassment along Ridge Avenue.
- Police received a report of terroristic threats at the Curwensville High School. Charges are pending as a result of the incident.
- Police handled an incident of harassment along Pine Street.
- Police handled vehicle lockouts at both the Dollar General Store and Snappy’s Convenience Store.
- Police reported that an engagement ring was turned in, and it was successfully returned to the owner
- Police received complaints about unknown individuals knocking on doors along Schofield Street.
- Police located a suspicious vehicle along Smith Street in Irvin Park. Police found there wasn’t anything criminal in nature and cleared the scene.
- Police responded to a fuel spill along Filbert Street.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with a search for a runaway juvenile.
- Police received a report of vandalism at a Schofield Street residence.
- Police received a report about an unwanted person at a Bloomington Avenue address. However, they left prior to police arrival on-scene.
DuBois City
- State parole officers were assisted Monday with a warrant service at a Washington Avenue address. Upon arrival, it was found assistance wasn’t necessary with additional POs en route. Police say a male was transported to the station, while arrangements were made for him to be housed in a state correctional facility.
- Police received a report about a male who had passed out Monday in the area of East Park Avenue and Church Street. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male who was very “fidgety.” When he pulled his hand from his pocket, police say a syringe fell out. Police found the male who was wanted on four warrants had multiple drug-related items, which were collected as evidence. He was taken into custody and to the police station; a constable transported him to the magistrate’s office on the warrants. He was housed in Clearfield County Jail with charges pending.
- On Monday police were contacted by a woman who reported her 78-year-old father as missing. According to police, she said her father had an appointment at 2 p.m., but he’s been missing since that time. Officers contacted the male, learned he was OK and informed his daughter.
- Police received a report about a disturbance Monday on West Washington Avenue. Upon arrival on-scene, police say a couple was found engaged in a verbal argument. The female was in the process of removing property from the residence, so officers remained on-scene until she left. No further police action was necessary.
- Police responded to a reported two-vehicle crash Monday in the Sheetz parking lot on North Brady Street. According to police, the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu pulled out from a gas pump, striking a Jeep Wrangler. While speaking with the driver, police detected the odor of alcohol on his breath. Officers administered field sobriety tests and determined he wasn’t intoxicated. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage, and were driven from the scene; police assisted the drivers with the exchange of information. No injuries were reported to police.
- Police received a report about two young girls entering an abandoned home Monday on South Brady Street. Upon arrival, police say the girls had already left. Officers proceeded to conduct a search of the area but were unable to locate them.
