DUBOIS – Downtown DuBois, along with First Commonwealth Bank and Parkside Community Center, will be hosting an American Red Cross blood drive.
It will be taking place on Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m., at Parkside, located at 120 W. Park Ave., DuBois.
According to information provided by organizers, the need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in the local area.
According to the information, nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every two to three seconds and most people will need blood in our lifetime.
You can schedule an appointment in advance by searching “Red Cross blood drive,” then entering in the zip code “15801.” Or, you can simply show up by 5:30 p.m.
Donors will be offered pizza as well as fresh baked goods and fruit. “Goody” bags will also be given to each blood donor.
