CLEARFIELD – A Winburne man who fled from a traffic stop is wanted for skipping his preliminary hearing, announced District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. on Monday.
On April 26, Trooper Matthew Gordon of the Clearfield-based state police charged 32-year-old Robert Lutz with flight to avoid apprehension, M2, and registration and certificate of title required, S.
The charges stem from a traffic stop April 3 on Lutz’s vehicle for an expired registration. The owner also had multiple active warrants, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Contact was made with the driver, Lutz, and Gordon went back to his patrol vehicle to confirm the warrants, at which point Lutz allegedly fled the scene.
Lutz was not apprehended. On May 29, he failed to appear for a preliminary hearing, Shaw said, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Lutz is described as a Caucasian male who stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He has hazel eyes and brown hair.
