CLEARFIELD – Jeremiah Vezza is this year’s recipient of the Gerald Read Memorial Scholarship, which was initiated by the Clearfield High School Class of 1973 to honor a fallen classmate.
“Jerry” was killed during the Naval Shipyard Massacre in Washington, D.C. in 2013, as he saved the life of a co-worker.
The scholarship is awarded annually to a CHS Eagle Scout who will pursue a four-year college degree.
Donations toward the Gerald Read Memorial Scholarship continue to be accepted through the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation.
