State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about a Protection from Abuse order violation June 24 on Sunset Lane in Curwensville Borough. According to state police, a witness said someone was hiding in a car; however, a search of the area had negative results. During a second search, a 62-year-old Clearfield man was located two houses away from that of the victim. It was found he’d allegedly been hiding in the victim’s car and waiting for her to leave for work. Because she had an active PFA, state police took the man into custody, and he was charged for the incident.
State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about an intoxicated female who suffered a head injury June 26 at Bilger’s Rocks. According to state police, she was being combative with fire and medical personnel, as they attempted to provide treatment. The female was subsequently flown to UPMC Altoona and will be cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct through the district court.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred June 30 on East Main Street in Reynoldsville Borough. During a property dispute, two women – a 78-year-old and 51-year-old – allegedly shoved each other. Both were charged for the incident through the district court.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct June 16 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Clearfield. During the incident, two males were allegedly engaged in a dispute, which started inside and continued in the parking lot. Upon arrival on-scene, contact was made with both males who had been separated and police learned the dispute was verbal in nature. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report about an assault June 26 at the Clearfield County Jail. During the incident, two inmates – a 26-year-old Morrisdale man and a 21-year-old Clearfield man – had allegedly assaulted another inmate, causing facial injuries. The injured inmate was subsequently transported to Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital for medical treatment. Police are continuing their investigation with charges currently pending.
- Police were requested to assist the fire department with a burning violation Tuesday on Carrs Hill Road. According to police, it was found two individuals had set fire to an approximate 40-foot mobile home in an attempt to dispose of the blighted property. Upon investigation, police found they hadn’t applied for a disposal permit and hadn’t received prior approval from the state Department of Environmental Protection. Charges for dangerous burning were filed through the district court, and the state police fire marshal assisted on-scene.
DuBois City
- Police received a noise complaint Monday at an apartment on East Weber Avenue. Upon arrival on-scene, police knocked on the door numerous times but didn’t receive an answer. In their report, police noted they couldn’t hear any noise.
- Police responded to an alarm Monday at Simpson Communications. Upon arrival on-scene, contact was made with an employee who believed she had activated the alarm and police learned everything was OK.
- Police assisted Domestic Relations with a warrant service Monday.
- Police received a report about a loose dog Monday on Hospital Avenue. Police said they were familiar with the dog since it’s been loose in the past, and were able to return it home. Charges are currently pending against the dog’s owner.
- Police received a report about a stolen rabbit hutch Monday. According to police, a male said it was taken from his yard and he found it on a porch in the 200 block of South Brady Street, which is an abandoned apartment building. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a suspicious couple Monday on East Weber Avenue. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the individuals in question.
