Sandy Township
- Police responded to a two-vehicle crash Monday. According to police, a tractor-trailer was being driven by a 61-year-old Altoona man who changed his mind on his direction of travel. He turned off Industrial Drive onto the Bee Line Highway, striking a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old Falls Creek man. Minor damage was reported to the tractor-trailer, while severe damage occurred to the vehicle.
- On Monday police received a report about an altercation that occurred between two women. According to police, a 20-year-old Haines Drive resident stated she and her 21-year-old girlfriend had gotten into an argument that escalated into a physical altercation. There weren’t any signs of physical injury on either woman, and officers were able to handle the situation without incident.
- Police received a report about a crash Monday on Clear Run Road. Upon arrival, officers found a pick-up truck at rest on its driver’s side. The driver had fled the scene prior to police arrival, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report about a domestic dispute Tuesday at a Treasure Lake residence. Upon arrival, contact was made with a couple who had only known each other and been married briefly. Police say both related that it wasn’t working out and because the 42-year-old African man wanted to go home, the couple agreed to separate. Police handled the situation without incident.
- On Wednesday police were contacted by a 66-year-old DuBois man who reported that he had a car parked along state Route 255. He said it’s available for sale and someone took the catalytic converter out of it.
- On Wednesday police were contacted by a 46-year-old man who reported that someone took two breaker panels, which are valued at $274, from his property on Highland Street Extension.
- Police were contacted about a Sheetz delivery truck and a passenger vehicle that were involved in a minor crash Wednesday in the lot at the Blinker Sheetz. The drivers exchanged information and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
- Police were contacted by a Weedville woman who reported that her wallet was taken from her vehicle while it was recently parked at the Warehouse. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- On Wednesday police were contacted by a 28-year-old Atlantic Avenue woman who reported that her 28-year-old roommate disrespected her, so she told her she needed to leave. However, she said her roommate refused to leave the porch due to not having a ride or any place to go. Police handled the situation without incident.
