State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of cruelty to animals that occurred June 8 at a Douglas Road residence in Knox Township. During the incident, a known suspect allegedly used a pistol to shoot a New Millport woman’s pet rabbit, then disposed of it. State police say the rabbit was later discovered in a wooded area near the woman’s residence. Charges will be filed accordingly.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police reported on a drug violation that occurred Monday on Fuller Road in Pine Creek Township. According to state police, a suspicious vehicle was observed in Moore Cemetery. Upon arrival, contact was made with a 42-year-old Brookville man, Thomas Spitz, who was found to have active bench warrants. He was taken into custody and allegedly found in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was housed in Jefferson County Jail on the warrants; charges are currently pending for this incident.
Lawrence Township
- Police reported on an incident of DUI that occurred Tuesday on the Clearfield-Curwensville Highway near its Park Avenue exit. According to police, when contact was made with a 19-year-old Curwensville man, he was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was released into the care of a sober person, and charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about a possible phone scam that occurred Friday on Daisy Street Extension. According to police, the caller claimed to be a representative with a data and analytical company to request personal information. Police would like to remind residents not to provide any personal information out over the phone.
- Police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred Friday on Daisy Street Extension. During the incident, someone allegedly stole an Android V35 VinQue cell phone, which is valued at approximately $1,000, from a Clearfield woman’s residence.
- Police received a report about lost, stolen or misplaced property Friday at the Sapp Bros. Truck Stop. According to police, a couple left their luggage and they are believed to be from out of state. Police say it can be claimed and picked up at the truck stop.
- Police received a report about lost, stolen or misplaced property Friday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. According to police, an 86-year-old Frenchville resident lost or misplaced his wallet while at the store.
- Police received a report about an alleged retail theft that occurred Sunday at the Family Dollar Store. Upon arrival on-scene, contact was made with a 20-year-old woman who willingly gave up the merchandise. She was banned from the store’s property and charges were filed for the incident.
