CLEARFIELD – A “block party” will celebrate music and the local community June 7, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., in downtown Clearfield.
Hosted by the Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) and Passport Radio, “Cruise the Past” will turn back time and invites you to turn up your radio.
“It’s been way too long since the last time we … caught up with our friends, turned up the radio and cruised downtown,” says Main Street Manager Loretta Wagner.
“We’re turning back our clocks and bringing it back for one night. We’re going back to the days we didn’t care about using a little extra gas.”
She recalls: “Those were nights that brought some of our best memories. Now we are hitting the nostalgia button and making it bigger and better than ever.”
The block party will feature live entertainment from Live Bait at The Express Café and Matt Day at the Corner Concert Series in Shaw Park.
Local downtown merchants will be open for food and activities; some will also turn back time and offer special sales, according to Wagner.
In conjunction with “Cruise the Past,” the Clearfield Fire Department will host a chicken barbecue. Tickets are on sale now for $10; please call 814-765-4861 and leave a message.
The department will also have raffle tickets available for purchase with prizes that include $500 cash, a $500 gift certificate for Zalno Jewelers and more.
You can purchase tickets now or the night of the event from Passport Radio. The station’s tent will have free merchandise and a special “swag bag” with discounts for local shops.
All proceeds will benefit the department.
