PHILIPSBURG – UGI Utilities Inc. will begin a natural gas main construction project in the Borough of Philipsburg, Centre County, the week of May 20.
The project is part of the company’s GET (Growth Extension Tariff) Gas initiative designed to extend service to residents and businesses who currently do not have access to natural gas.
The natural gas main construction project will take place on East Pine Street between North Ninth and North 13th streets.
During construction hours, residents and commuters should expect delays and parking restrictions. Traffic will be restricted to one lane.
Construction hours are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flaggers will direct traffic in the area.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of May. UGI appreciates the patience and understanding of residents, as the company completes this infrastructure expansion project.
UGI will be canvassing homes door-to-door during this time period to gauge interest in natural gas service.
