BROOKVILLE — Nominations for selection to Brookville Area High School’s 2019 Hall of Fame Class will be accepted beginning June 1, John Pozza, Brookville Area school director and chair of the BAHS Hall of Fame Selection Committee, announced Monday.
Nomination forms can be completed and submitted online from June 1 through July 31 on the school district’s Web site at www.basd.us. Hard copies of nomination forms will also be available at the main office of the high school.
This is an “all-inclusive” Hall of Fame, and not a Hall of Fame based solely on athletic accomplishment, Pozza said, adding that is not to mean that a former Brookville area athlete or coach cannot be nominated.
Criteria and qualifications for nomination can be found on the school Web site’s Hall of Fame link. The hard copy form will have the criteria for nomination on one side and the application on the other.
Those submitting nominations are strongly encouraged to provide as much supporting material as possible on their candidate, both on the nomination form and in copies of published articles or other printed material.
Those submitting supporting materials should mail them with their nomination form to: Brookville Area High School Hall of Fame, P.O. Box 41, Brookville, PA 15825.
Candidates must have graduated from BAHS 10 or more years ago, or be retired as an employee, coach or volunteer in the district five or more years ago. Any nomination not meeting this minimum requirement will not be considered.
Those nominated but not selected will remain in the pool of candidates for a period of five years.
Pozza said the 2019 HOF class and last year’s inaugural 2018 class of Robert Himes Jr. and the late Al “Bud” Lefevre will be inducted and recognized together at a public reception and assembly in the high school auditorium prior to this year’s Oct. 4 homecoming football game. The new 2019 class will also be introduced at halftime.
The Hall of Fame selection committee that reviews and scores nominations will remain anonymous. It includes a cross-section of business people, alumni, school directors, retirees and administration.
