DUBOIS – A new on-site and mobile occupational health service is now available in the area thanks to Direct Workforce Care of DuBois.
David F. McAllister Jr., the owner and president, has worked in the health field for 20 years and as an occupational health specialist and safety consultant for the past five years.
In his business, he’s promised to “strive for personal excellence by integrating core values” relating to honesty, integrity, dignity, respect and leadership.
According to McAllister, the Occupational Health and Safety field offers a broad range of services to support working professionals.
“[And] I’ll strive in helping employers to support a healthy and safe workforce while reducing the overall cost to the company.
“My focus is to assure client satisfaction while enabling growth and prosperity.”
McAllister also promises to continue to make it his priority to deliver quality occupational health services, as well as to make these services more accessible to businesses.
“I have had the pleasure of working as a safety consultant for Employbridge staffing services, where I had covered areas in eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland,” he states.
“I am a nationally-certified paramedic and worked as a paramedic crew chief/training coordinator for Mount Nittany Healthcare of State College.
“During my employment with Penn Highlands, I served the healthcare system as an occupational health manager, while furthering my education in the occupational health field.”
McAllister received his Bachelor’s degree in management/marketing from the Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
Currently, he’s working on his Master’s degree in occupational safety from Columbia Southern University in Alabama.
He’s an authorized OSHA outreach trainer; a certified Drug and Alcohol technician, FMCSA; board-certified in spirometry and respiratory fit testing; board-certified in occupational health and audiometric testing; completed OSHA 501 and 511; and certified in industrial hygiene management, first aid and CPR.
Currently, McAllister serves on the board of directors for the Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League. He’s also a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, the Capital Area Safety Council and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association.
