CURWENSVILLE – The first week of May has not been kind to the Curwensville Lady Tide softball team as it lost for the third straight time on Friday afternoon, at home to Moshannon Valley 10-4.
It was not your classic fielding game as both teams combined for 15 errors with the Lady Tide committing eight.
Of the 14 total runs scored by each squad only three were earned runs.
Curwensville kept it close through the first two innings, trailing just 3-2 going into the top of the third frame.
That’s when the Damsels pulled away with a five run inning which was highlighted by a two run home run by Moshannon Valley center fielder Fleck.
The Damsels also picked up a two run home run in then third inning by its catcher Blake.
Moshannon Valley got two hits each from Blake and Dotts, the first baseman.
Joslynne Freyer and Ally Hess each had two hits for Curwensville while Taylor Luzier smacked a second inning double.
The Lady Tide, now 11-4 on the year, are home at 4:15 pm on Monday when they play Elk County Catholic, a team they defeated earlier this season by a score of 12-5.
