National Travel and Tourism Week is celebrating its 36th annual celebration and accomplishments of the U.S. travel industry during the week of May 5-11.
Visit Clearfield County, the Greater DuBois Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group and the Clearfield Revitalization Corp. have come together to provide the community and its visitors with a week of “Hidden Treasures.”
“The theme for National Travel and Tourism Week is ‘Travel Matters,’ but the overall group decided that focusing on our ‘Hidden Treasures’ in Clearfield County was more important and something that we all felt the community and our visitors would enjoy and love to experience,” says Josiah Jones, VCC executive director.
“Clearfield County has much more than these hidden treasures to offer, but we narrowed it down to a select few, so that our community and visitors can enjoy some of these locations during times when they are usually closed.
“We also added the fish stocking to our schedule because we offer so many recreational activities here in Clearfield County and fishing is just one of many. We really hope that people will come out and take advantage of these opportunities by visiting some of these hidden treasures in our beautiful county.”
