DUBOIS – Local crafters will have a new place to shop for supplies later this year.
Following a “comprehensive review,” DuBois has been selected as one of 12 Pat Catan’s locations that will be rebranded and reopened as a new Michaels store, according to Mallory Smith, public relations manager for Michaels.
“We look forward to reopening and inspiring the DuBois community to unleash their inner-maker,” Smith said. “We expect the store to begin the conversion process around June 22 and to reopen as a Michaels store in mid- to late-August.”
On Jan. 30, Michaels Companies Inc. announced its decision to close all of its Pat Catan’s stores in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2018. Pat Catan’s is a 36-store retail supplier of arts and crafts in Ohio and surrounding states.
The company also previously indicated it had plans to rebrand up to 12 of the closed Pat Catan’s stores and to reopen them under the Michaels banner in fiscal year 2019.
